Moves
Write Six Scenarios
Authored six real-life encounters as content, not prompts: airport immigration, the ticket machine, platform announcements, the bus stop, a timed convenience-store checkout, and a real-estate negotiation.
Reward Repair, Not Guessing
Built the scoring so asking someone to repeat themselves counts for more than a lucky guess, with three strikes ending a run.
Go Voice-First
Wired NPC speech and player input through the browser's own Web Speech API in both directions, with typing as the always-available fallback.
Make It Testable
Kept the engine fully scripted and deterministic (no backend, no LLM at runtime), with an automated acceptance-test suite covering the NPC, scoring, and Sensei logic.
Outcome
A voice-first game live and playable at lingosee.imranmn.life, with six full scenarios, a meiwaku (social-debt) meter, a spaced-repetition vocabulary deck, and a Sensei character that reviews your transcript after every scenario.
